“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
– Matthew 22:37-40
The sacrament of Confirmation is intimately related to the sacrament of baptism. It also serves as a “coming of age” for youth as they take on the baptismal covenant as their own promise to God, to love him with their whole being, and are welcomed as an adult member of the church. An exciting step in our journey with Jesus, our confirmation preparation program provides a safe and friendly environment for youth to ask questions, dig deeper into the Bible and worship, and grow in their relationship with God and the church.
Our confirmation program is aimed primarily at students in grades 8 through 12 and generally takes place over a 7-month period from the fall to the spring. Our hope is that our confirmands develop a strong sense of friendship with their classmates and a deep and meaningful engagement with their own parish as well as the wider church.
